What does automated mean in product intelligence?
Automated means a person decides the rules and a system follows them.
Routing new feedback to Slack is automated. So is sending a weekly digest or adding a tag when a word appears. The system acts, but only along a path someone already drew.
Automation isn't judgment. It can't notice that a rule no longer makes sense unless someone created another rule for that too.
Why it matters for product builders
Automation removes the work of moving things around. The decision still belongs to you, and that is often the slowest part.
