What does autonomous mean in product intelligence?
Autonomous means a system decides what to do next inside boundaries you set.
You decide what it may do, what needs approval and what it must never touch. Inside those limits, it can ingest signal, classify it, score it, surface priorities, write briefs and close feedback loops without a new prompt each time.
Autonomous doesn't mean unsupervised. A system can propose an action and wait for your approval. The difference is who starts the work, not whether anyone is watching.
Why it matters for product builders
Ask whether you can see what the system decided and undo it. Work you can't inspect is hard to trust, even when it's usually right.
