What are customer insights?

A customer insight is a conclusion drawn from customer evidence. It explains what a pattern means, not just what 1 person said.

“Customers want faster export” is a summary. “Customers export because they don't trust the reporting” is an insight. The second one can change what you build.

An insight isn't raw feedback or a metric. Both are inputs.

Why it matters for product builders

Insights are where a feedback queue becomes a decision. Without that step, you end up ranking sentences instead of problems.

What changes in AI-first products

Finding patterns across 400 comments got much faster. Deciding whether the pattern matters is still a human judgment about what the business cares about.
