Continuous discovery

What is continuous discovery?

What is continuous discovery?

Continuous discovery means talking to customers regularly in small amounts instead of running occasional large research projects. A common benchmark is at least 1 customer conversation every week.

Frequency is the point. Research done in bursts can be months old when you need to make a decision. A weekly habit keeps evidence close to the choice.

This doesn't mean sending more surveys. The unit is a conversation with someone who has a problem.

Why it matters for product builders

If you spoke to customers recently, you don't have to guess what they think. If research only happens in bursts, you're usually deciding from old evidence.
