Annsa vs Productboard
Productboard helps a product team plan a roadmap together. Annsa is the source of direction for your agents: it carries that plan to every agent, and back to the customers who asked.
At a glance
What each is built for.
| Productboard | Annsa | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Product managers | Product builders with agents doing the building |
| Core job | Discovery, roadmaps and specs | End to end: choose what to build, direct every agent, learn as you go |
| Prioritization | Scores you set up, plus Spark suggestions (beta) | Ranked automatically, with the reason |
| Where it goes | A roadmap and specs | One plan every agent builds from, then a note to each customer who asked |
| Where you work | A planning hub | Your agents over MCP, and the Annsa app |
End to end
What makes Annsa different.
Annsa takes you from what customers asked for to telling them it shipped, with every agent working from one ranked list. Productboard is where a product team plans its roadmap.
| Productboard | Annsa | |
|---|---|---|
| Choose what to build | ||
| Feedback | Zendesk, Gong, Slack, Intercom, G2, forms and a portal. | Slack and Intercom flow in automatically. Add calls, Sheets, CSV or the API. |
| Surveys | Feedback forms and a customer portal. | Ask customers in your product. Answers join the same list. |
| Priorities | Grouped into trends; Spark suggests opportunities (beta). | Requests grouped and ranked automatically, with the reason. |
| Customers | Companies and users, with an importance score. | A page per customer and account: who asked, in their words, and their revenue when you connect it. |
| Roadmap | Roadmaps, objectives and initiatives. | Bets in your order. You or your agent places each priority on a bet. |
| Agent findings | Agents can add feedback over MCP. | Agents add what they find on their own. You set the severity. |
| Direct your agents | ||
| Tracking | Releases; specs go to Jira or Linear. | Open, ready, building, shipped and shared. Marked shipped when the work reaches your live branch and every Done When line is verified. |
| Specs | Spark drafts specs from your code. | One spec per priority. Your agent or Ask writes it, or you do. |
| Done When | Not listed | Your agent verifies each line and leaves a receipt you can follow. |
| Handoff | Agents read and edit specs. | One agent holds each priority at a time. A handoff carries a note. |
| When agents ask you | Not listed | Agents settle routine calls by your rules, with undo. Scope, customers, a principle, a real choice or security come to you. |
| Learn as you go | ||
| Telling customers | A customer portal shows what launched. | Annsa drafts a note to each person who asked. You send it. |
| What changed | Release notes and status updates from Spark. | What's rising, shipped and quiet, each day and each week. |
| Ask | Spark answers across your feedback. | Ask about your customers and your work, with the quotes behind each answer. |
| Remembered decisions | Skills and knowledge for Spark. | Annsa turns your answers into rules every agent reads. You approve each one. |
| Your agents | ||
| MCP | Hosted MCP server, in beta. | Hosted MCP server: agents read the ranked list, claim work, ask you and ship. |
| Proof of work | Agent edits kept in version history. | Each verified line leaves a receipt you can open. |
| Billing | Per maker; AI uses credits. | Bring your own agents. Connect as many as you like, at no extra cost. |
"Not listed" means Productboard's own pages don't mention it, as of 19 October 2026.
What Productboard does well
Productboard is very good at this.
A trail from every insight back to the feedback.
Spark, Productboard's agentic product system, links each insight and recommendation to the customer feedback behind it.
Feedback from the tools support and sales already use.
Zendesk, Gong, Fin, Slack, G2 and Intercom feed it, with Salesforce for account context.
Prioritization a whole product org can share.
Drivers scored from zero to five, objectives tied to company goals, and roadmaps stakeholders can follow.
Specs grounded in your code.
Spark connects to GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or Azure DevOps and uses the codebase to ground the specs it writes.
Where it gets hard
Where it gets hard when agents do the building.
Say you run four coding agents and a small product team. Specs live in Productboard, and your agents can read them over its MCP server. But each agent still needs to know what's next, what the customer said, what counts as done, and who to ask when a call is yours. Those answers end up in chats and comments, and you answer the same question twice.
What Annsa does instead
What's next, for every agent.
One ranked list, with each customer's words and Done When lines, that every agent claims work from over MCP.
Only your calls reach you.
Agents settle routine questions by your rules. Scope, customers, a principle, a real choice or anything touching security come to you, in three lines with their pick.
Decide once. Every agent learns.
Save an answer as a rule, and every agent gets it with the spec. When work ships, Annsa drafts a note to each customer who asked, for you to send.
Pricing
What each costs.
Productboard
Business and Enterprise, priced on request (no list prices on the pricing page). Business includes 500 AI credits per maker a month; plans start at 5 makers.
Annsa
Try Annsa free with 100 signals, once. Then Annsa at $19 or Annsa Plus at $39 per person a month, every feature on both; 500 signals a person a month on Annsa, 1,500 on Plus. A signal is one piece of customer feedback or evidence. One plan covers choosing, directing and learning, and you bring your own agents, as many as you like.
Productboard prices per maker and meters AI by credits; Annsa prices per person and meters customer signals. Check both pricing pages before you decide: they change.
Which to pick
Pick the one that fits how you build.
Pick Productboard if
- You have a product team of five or more makers who plan in one shared workspace.
- You need roadmaps and objectives the rest of the company reviews.
- Most of your feedback lives in Zendesk, Gong or Salesforce.
- You want specs written inside your product management system.
Pick Annsa if
- You're building with AI agents and want every agent working from one ranked list.
- You want customer feedback, your own ideas and what your agents find in the same place.
- You want agents to ask only when a call is yours, and every agent to learn your answer.
- You're fewer than five makers, or want list prices: every feature at $19 a person.
Switching
Moving from Productboard?
- Connect the feedback sources you already use, such as Slack and Intercom.
- Connect your coding agents to Annsa over MCP.
- Ask your agent what to build first, and who asked for it.
- When work ships, send the Share Back note Annsa drafts.
Annsa doesn't import from Productboard today. Connecting your feedback sources brings in new feedback, not the records already stored in Productboard.
