Annsa vs Hamster
Hamster helps your team agree on a Brief. Annsa tells you which Brief to write, with the customers behind it, and gets every agent building from it.
At a glance
What each is built for.
| Hamster | Annsa | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Teams planning with AI agents | Product builders with agents doing the building |
| Core job | Briefs and Plans | End to end: choose what to build, direct every agent, learn as you go |
| Prioritization | Your team agrees together | Ranked automatically, with the reason |
| Where it goes | A Plan and a pull request | One plan every agent builds from, then a note to each customer who asked |
| Where you work | A shared workspace and CLI | Your agents over MCP, and the Annsa app |
End to end
What makes Annsa different.
Annsa takes you from what customers asked for to telling them it shipped, with every agent working from one ranked list. Hamster is where a team agrees on a Brief and a Plan before agents build.
| Hamster | Annsa | |
|---|---|---|
| Choose what to build | ||
| Feedback | Research Agents read transcripts and connected sources. | Slack and Intercom flow in automatically. Add calls, Sheets, CSV or the API. |
| Surveys | Not listed | Ask customers in your product. Answers join the same list. |
| Priorities | Your team agrees which Brief to take on. | Requests grouped and ranked automatically, with the reason. |
| Customers | Not listed | A page per customer and account: who asked, in their words, and their revenue when you connect it. |
| Roadmap | Goals, key results and Initiatives. | Bets in your order. You or your agent places each priority on a bet. |
| Agent findings | Research Agents attach findings to the work. | Agents add what they find on their own. You set the severity. |
| Direct your agents | ||
| Tracking | Briefs and Plans, with Linear sync. | Open, ready, building, shipped and shared. Marked shipped when the work reaches your live branch and every Done When line is verified. |
| Specs | A Brief, then a Plan with tasks. | One spec per priority. Your agent or Ask writes it, or you do. |
| Done When | Acceptance criteria on each task. | Your agent verifies each line and leaves a receipt you can follow. |
| Handoff | Agents ask which Briefs are ready. | One agent holds each priority at a time. A handoff carries a note. |
| When agents ask you | Not listed | Agents settle routine calls by your rules, with undo. Scope, customers, a principle, a real choice or security come to you. |
| Learn as you go | ||
| Telling customers | Not listed | Annsa drafts a note to each person who asked. You send it. |
| What changed | Not listed | What's rising, shipped and quiet, each day and each week. |
| Ask | Answers questions about meetings and research. | Ask about your customers and your work, with the quotes behind each answer. |
| Remembered decisions | A shared context graph and skill library. | Annsa turns your answers into rules every agent reads. You approve each one. |
| Your agents | ||
| MCP | CLI and MCP server. | Hosted MCP server: agents read the ranked list, claim work, ask you and ship. |
| Proof of work | Not listed | Each verified line leaves a receipt you can open. |
| Billing | Per creator; viewers are free. | Bring your own agents. Connect as many as you like, at no extra cost. |
"Not listed" means Hamster's own pages don't mention it, as of 19 October 2026.
What Hamster does well
Hamster is very good at this.
A shared Brief the whole team can edit.
Teammates edit the same Brief, then Hamster turns the agreed scope into a Plan with tasks and acceptance criteria.
Context that follows the agent into your repo.
Its CLI and MCP server sync Briefs, Plans and product knowledge into a .hamster folder, and watch mode keeps them current.
Wide agent support, plus Cloud Agents.
It works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini, GitHub Copilot and Grok, and on Team a Cloud Agent can open a pull request. The same team makes the open-source Task Master.
Goals above the work.
Goals, key results and Initiatives sit above the Briefs, with two-way Linear and Jira sync on Team and links to GitHub, Slack, Figma and Notion.
Where it gets hard
Where it gets hard when the question is what to build.
Say you run four coding agents and a small team. Hamster gives you a shared Brief and a Plan for each piece of work, and your agents read them through its CLI or MCP. Its Research Agents can dig into your sources and bring findings into a Brief. But Hamster's pages don't say it collects customer requests as they arrive or ranks them against each other.
What Annsa does instead
The ranking that goes into the Brief.
Redone every time a customer asks for something new, with the evidence behind each priority.
Only your calls reach you.
Agents settle routine questions by your rules. Scope, customers, a principle, a real choice or anything touching security come to you, in three lines with their pick.
Decide once. Every agent learns.
Save an answer as a rule, and every agent gets it with the spec. When work ships, Annsa drafts a note to each customer who asked, for you to send.
Pricing
What each costs.
Hamster
Free: $0 for one creator, 10 Briefs a month and one repository, with unlimited viewers. Team: $40 per creator a month, or $400 a year, with unlimited Briefs and repositories and Cloud Agents. Enterprise: $200 per creator a month. Viewers are free, and so are Reviewer seats.
Annsa
Try Annsa free with 100 signals, once. Then Annsa at $19 or Annsa Plus at $39 per person a month, every feature on both; 500 signals a person a month on Annsa, 1,500 on Plus. A signal is one piece of customer feedback or evidence. One plan covers choosing, directing and learning, and you bring your own agents, as many as you like.
Hamster prices per creator and limits free use by Briefs a month; Annsa prices per person and meters customer signals. Check both pricing pages before you decide: they change.
Which to pick
Pick the one that fits how you build.
Pick Hamster if
- You want your team to agree on a written Brief before any agent builds.
- You want a Plan with tasks and acceptance criteria generated for each piece of work.
- You want a Cloud Agent to open pull requests from a Plan.
- You need reviewers and viewers who comment for free.
Pick Annsa if
- You're building with AI agents and want every agent working from one ranked list.
- You want customer feedback, your own ideas and what your agents find in the same place.
- You want agents to ask only when a call is yours, and every agent to learn your answer.
- You want to know what goes in the Brief: which customer request ranks first, and why.
Switching
Moving from Hamster?
- Connect the feedback sources you already use, such as Slack and Intercom.
- Connect your coding agents to Annsa over MCP.
- Ask your agent what to build first, and who asked for it.
- When work ships, send the Share Back note Annsa drafts.
Annsa doesn't import from Hamster today. Connecting your feedback sources brings in new feedback, not the records already stored in Hamster.
